Water Rescue Group (German Red Cross)

74 children and youth, 14 volunteer trainers: the Wasserwacht (water rescue) is a German Red Cross organization. They protect and rescue people in, on and near the water. Throughout Germany, it organizes more than 137,000 members – including 51,000 active lifeguards. This aid organization is represented in all of the German Red Cross's regional chapters and works primarily along the coast and inland waterways. Members work with the Wasserwacht on a volunteer basis and during their free time – "for the love of sport and the joy of helping". We wholeheartedly support the Wasserwacht's goals which include not only providing protection for the public but also offering sensible free-time activities for children and young adults.
