Our integrated management system
VGS has established an integrated management system that meets the requirements of several standards: DIN EN ISO 9001 (quality management), DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management), DIN ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management), DIN EN ISO 50001 (energy management) as well as Section 11 (1b) of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management).
In addition, we regularly carry out tests in accordance with the gas-specific requirements of DVGW worksheet G 1000. This worksheet specifies the requirements for the qualification and organisation of companies operating systems for the supply of gas to the general public via pipelines (gas supply systems).
Since 2013, we have been proud to hold the ‘audit berufundfamilie’ seal of approval, which recognises our goals and measures in family- and life-stage-conscious HR strategy.
DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality Management
We have implemented a quality management system based on the requirements of ISO 9001. This system enables us to design our business processes in such a way that the quality of our products and services meets the expectations of our customers as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Through systematic improvements, we are committed to continuously developing and optimising our services. Our goal is to ensure the highest quality standards and to always promote customer satisfaction.
DIN EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management
We use an environmental management system based on the requirements of ISO 14001. This system defines the organisational framework and processes that enable us to actively protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in line with socio-economic requirements. Through our commitment to sustainable practices, we strive to systematically minimise the environmental impact of our actions and to use natural resources responsibly. We operate sustainably and actively contribute to protecting the environment.
DIN ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management
With the introduction of a health and safety management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001, we ensure that our employees have safe and healthy workplaces. Our goal is to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses and to continuously improve our performance. In addition, we are actively committed to protecting and promoting the physical and mental health of our employees and all persons who may be affected by our activities.
DIN EN ISO 50001 Energy Management
We operate an energy management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 50001. By applying this standard, we monitor, analyse and optimise our energy consumption. Through a systematic search for potential improvements and the targeted implementation of efficiency measures, we not only contribute to the conservation of resources, but also make an active contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This ensures that our processes can be operated economically and in an environmentally friendly manner in the long term.

ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management
By introducing an information security management system (ISMS) in accordance with Section 11 (1b) of the EnWG and ISO 27001, we meet the legal requirements for companies with critical infrastructure and thus avoid legal consequences. The ISMS is designed to effectively protect information, minimise risks and strengthen the trust of customers and business partners, as well as to improve protection goals (availability, integrity, confidentiality of information) through a continuous improvement process.

Since 2013, we have been proud to hold the ‘Beruf und Familie’ (Career and Family audit certificate. This certificate recognises our comprehensive personnel and family policy. We are actively committed to enabling our employees to achieve a better work-life balance. This process is ongoing and is being promoted at all levels of our company. In 2019, VGS was awarded a permanent certificate after successfully completing the dialogue process for the ‘Beruf und Familie’ (Career and Family) audit several times in recent years.
