From 01/01/2020, new regulations of the Bundesnetzagentur apply for the conversion of annual service prices into service prices for capacity rights during the year as well as for the proper determination of network charges ("REGENT").
According to this, the entry and exit fees by the upstream network operator to storage facilities, which are connected to more than one market area are, shall be provided with a discount of 75% as far as VNG Gasspeicher GmbH maintains separate storage accounts for its customers (discounted and non-discounted storage accounts). This proves that storage does not serve for avoiding the transport between market areas. VNG Gasspeicher GmbH offers such an account model for its Etzel storage facility on the basis of this regulation, which comes into force on 101/01/2020.
In contrast to the previous regulation ("BEATE"), gas can only be transferred between two discounted accounts or two non-discounted accounts within the same market area. The rebooking fee has been abolished.

How does VNG Gasspeicher GmbH (VGS) implement the new account regulation?
VGS will continue to implement the REGENT specifications using a two-account model. This means that one account less is implemented than it is required according to REGENT Regulation. In order to nevertheless guarantee all the requirements of the REGENT Regulation, VGS restricts the gas-in-store-transfer between non-discounted accounts of the various market areas for its customers.
Is it possible at the Etzel storage facility to withdraw gas into GASPOOL which was injected via NCG?
Yes, this is possible. Gas that was injected from the NCG market area into a non-discounted account can later be withdrawn by the customer in the direction of GASPOOL without discount if the customer nominates the withdrawal in the direction of GASPOOL and the non-discounted account for the GASPOOL market area is empty. In this case, VGS automatically uses the gas quantities in the NCG market area's non-discounted account for withdrawal.
How can a customer switch the market area within the storage at the Etzel storage facility?
When using a discounted account, a customer cannot change the market area within the Etzel storage facility. If gas has been injected into a non-discounted account, then a change of market area is only possible within the framework of withdrawal. See the answer to the above question.
Why does VGS not allow gas-in-store-transfers between two non-discounted accounts of different market areas?
VGS only uses two accounts for the implementation of the REGENT specifications in its IT systems. By preventing gas transfers between non-discounted accounts of two market areas, we ensure that gas stored on a non-discounted account in one market area can later also be withdrawn into the same market area with a discount. If gas transfers between non-discounted accounts were possible, then injected quantities from a non-discounted account could later not be withdran into the same market area with a discount.
Can a customer transfer gas from a discount account to a non-discounted account?
Gas that the customer has stored in a discounted account can also be transferred to a non-discounted account. However, only if the network operator offers so-called "Fakturierung".
What does "Fakturierung" mean?
"Fakturierung" replaces the previous "transfer fee", which is now billed by the TSO. If a TSO offers "Fakturierung", the customer can switch from a discounted account to a non-discounted account in the same market area. For this purpose, however, the customer must first contact the respective network operator.

Trading + Gas
Act immediately on the market - with our "Trading + Gas" product, you can start withdrawing (flat) directly.
We provide you with a gas-filled storage facility in the GASPOOL | THE market area. Use the gas for your needs and store it again at a later date. At the end of the contract on 1 October 2022, you hand the filled storage facility back to us.
The bidding phase will take place on 13 January 2021 between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm. You bid on a fixed price in €/MWh for the total service periode of the contract.

Flat? Trading Flat!
No characteristic curve restriction and a turnover period of only 60 days on a firm basis - this is what our product Trading Flat offers. Use the conditions of transport on a monthly basis and react quickly to market changes.
The product is also available on VTP - Hub Trading Flat.
You can book the product in Easystore easily. Do you need the capacity the next day? No problem. With a lead time of 16 hours you can book your desired capacity day-ahead. The fee calculation is dynamic and the current market conditions are adapted. Configure your product in Easystore and in the configuration overview you will see the corresponding fee. An extended registration for online booking is necessary.

Trading VSH green
Would you like to make an environmentally friendly contribution to the storage of gas? With "Trading VSH green", we cover the energy requirements for the injection and withdrawal of gas into and from the underground storage facilities in an ecologically responisble form using energy from 100 percent bio natural gas. Thus the green product differs only in the amount of the variable fee. You do not have to do without the well-known performance and flexibility of the Trading VSH product.
